Farm And Forage: How To Complete The Collection

Are you a big-time completionist who loves Stardew Valley? If so, you’ll probably want to try and collect all the Farm and Forage items in the Vollections tab. Having trouble finding everything? We’ve got you!

A screenshot from Stardew Valley of the farm and forage tab in the Collections menu.
There are so many things to find in Stardew Valley.

What Are Collections?

The collections tab records all of the items the farmer has found, caught, read, or shipped. There are eight collection sub-tabs in total:

  1. Items Shipped (Farm and Forage)
  2. Fish – a list of all of the fish your farmer has caught.
  3. Artifacts – a list of all of the artifacts your farmer has found.
  4. Minerals – a list of all of the minerals your farmer has found.
  5. Cooking – a list of all of the dishes your farmer has cooked.
  6. Achievements – a list of all of the achievements you’ve accomplished.
  7. Letters – a list of all of the letters your farmer has received in the mail.
  8. Secret Notes – a list of all of the Secret Notes your farmer has found.

Where Are Collections?

You can find the collections tab by entering the game menu and clicking on the icon that looks like a small golden sack. The very first sub-tab of collections is called Items Shipped (Farm and Forage), so it’s pretty hard to miss!

Why You Should Complete The Collections

Completing these collections is a great challenge for a veteran Stardew Valley player looking to achieve something. Furthermore, you can gain several Steam achievements by completing the collections:

  • Full Shipment – for completing the Farm and Forage collection.
  • Master Angler – for completing the Fish collection.
  • Gourmet Chef – for completing the Cooking collection.
  • A Complete Collection – for completing the Artifact and Minerals collections and donating everything to the Museum.

The Forage and Farm Sub-tab

This collection sub-tab contains mostly crops and forageables, as well as some miscellaneous items. In order to complete the collection, you’ll need to invest heavily in farming – both raising animals and planting crops. Furthermore, you’ll need to dedicate at least a couple of years to finish this collection. Some of the items are nearly impossible to get in Year One, and others require access to special, late-game areas.

In order to complete the collection, acquire the items listed and then place them in the Shipping Box that’s located next to your house. If you don’t ship these items, they won’t count as having been collected.

Stardew Valley’s Shipping Box allows you to conveniently sell stuff overnight.

List of Farm and Forage Items

Some of these items can be found in more than one way. We’ll list the easiest and most straightforward way to find every item.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Any tips for finding these items?

One hot tip is to grab the Tracker profession at level ten of the foraging skill. This profession lets you see small arrows on your screen when you enter an area that lead you to forageables.

2. Why is Clam on the list, but not Cockle or Mussel?

Clams, Rainbow Shells, and Corals are beach forageables just like Cockles and Mussels, but they are not considered fish. The latter two are, and are required to complete the Fish collection, but not the Farm and Forage collection.

3. What is the best farm map for collecting items?

You can complete this collection no matter what farm you choose – the Standard farm, Riverland farm, or anything in between. However, you’ll have an easier time finding Hardwood and Mushrooms on the Forest Farm.
