Have you met Sebastian in Stardew Valley? He’s neither a friendly nor rude bachelor, but he can be pretty interesting once your relationship deepens. To win his trust learn more about his gift preferences, schedule, and more!

Villagers in Pelican Town have varying personalities. And if you’ve ever come across a guy with deep blue hair, that’s Sebastian. He’s one of the 12 marriage candidates in town, and getting close to him can be challenging. 

Nonetheless, this guide can help boost your friendship points with him and find his best-loved gifts together with his story!

Who is Sebastian?

Sebastian resides at 24 Mountain Road (the Carpenter’s Shop) with his family. You’ll find his room in the basement of their home. Upon meeting him, he may seem like a rebellious loner who’s heavily invested in his work, computer games, and great sci-fi novels. 

Here’s a heads up, he’s not the friendliest bachelor. But once you know him better, you’ll eventually discover more about his soft side. 

Family and Relationships

He’s Robin’s son and Demetrius’ step-son. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the best relationship with them, even with his half-sister, Maru. In some conversations, Sebastian indirectly hints at his jealousy towards her. Additionally, they don’t speak about his birth father, giving players no clue who he is.

Despite having a complicated bond with his family, he’s still good friends with Abigail and Sam. They belong to the same band, and you’ll often find them hanging out at the Saloon or Sam’s house in Stardew Valley. 

Moreover, if you don’t invite Sebastian or Abigail to the Flower Dance Festival, they’ll dance with each other instead. Some dialogues with Maru and Sam also imply that he’s interested in Abigail. But if you marry Abigail, he’d stop considering her as a friend and say that his only companion is Sam.

Sebastian has a busy schedule despite being introverted. Take note that he has an appointment with Harvey every Summer 4.

Heart Events

After doing a great job in earning Sebastian’s trust, you can finally learn more about him through these Heart Events. As you dive deeper into his story, he may interest you better– and who knows, you might offer him a bouquet or the mermaid’s pendant afterward?

2	You’ll find him working on his computer once you enter his room. He’ll tell you that he’s working and ask you to wait. You’ll be given a choice to leave or stay. After waiting, you may now choose between these dialogues: • Ask him what he’s working on.  • Complement his room decorations. His response to the first option is that he works as a freelance programmer. If you choose the second line, he’ll thank you and tell you that he’s been placing them there for years, not noticing that they’re already cluttered. Subsequently, his friends would also ask him to hang out, but he declines since he was busy. However, Abigail was quite persistent, which irritated him since he felt his job wasn’t seen as something serious. You may ask him either of these two things: • What are his career goals? • Why doesn’t he want to see his peers? Response #1: He’ll tell you he’ll move to the city and continue working freelance. He prefers working behind the computer instead of face-to-face. Response #2: He says he likes having friends but prefers a balanced social life. Sebastian also compares himself to Sam’s incapability of being alone for a long time. He also adds that he likes computers since they’re fun, unselfish, and more straightforward than the people he knows. Note: your response to any of these dialogues doesn’t harm your friendship in Stardew Valley.
4	If you visit the mountain around 11 AM to 5 PM, you’ll find him working on his motorcycle. Sebastian shares he usually takes long rides far from town. He even offers to take you for a ride with him someday.  You may agree or disagree with this. Whatever you choose won’t negatively affect your relationship.
6	Upon entering his room, he and Sam invite you to play Solarion Chronicles: The Game. You’ll participate in a scenario wherein your scores are A and D. There are different archetypes you can choose from: • Warrior. You prefer taking a direct approach. • Healer. You prefer helping others. • Wizard. You have a sharp mind serving as a great weapon. After choosing your role, there will be instructions for playing the game.   1. Enter the front door. 2. Fight the skeleton and raise your shield. 3. Go to the left hallway and see it glowing with green light. 4. Break the capsules. 5. While in the final battle, the Warrior protects his peers and attacks the boss to end the scenario. The healer heals Sebastian to end the game. And the final role offers a Shield Charm to protect Sebastian and kill the boss.
8	After offering him the bouquet, you’ll find him at the beach standing by the boardwalk between noon and 11 PM.  Despite the rainy weather, Sebastian tells you he’s surprised to see you outside.  He also admits his anxiety towards other people and you being an exception. He then shares an umbrella with you as the cutscene ends.
10	Meeting him around 8 PM to midnight outside his house triggers an event wherein he invites you for a ride. He brings you to a place he often visits and gives a great view of the city. If you’re a female character, he’ll admit that he doesn’t usually take girls to this place. While if you’re a guy, he tells you how different you are and how different his feelings for you are. Consequently, he’ll take out some cigarettes. You may ask him to stop smoking, but it’ll annoy him and tell you that you’re like his mom. However, he also adds that he’ll try to stop. A few moments later, Sebastian will admit his feelings for you, and you’ll embrace each other under the full moon.
10-Hearts Event	If you gave Alex the last bouquet, you’d trigger a cutscene at Stardew Saloon, wherein all the bachelors are playing a pool game. Make sure to have a Rabbit’s Foot with you to prevent them from finding out that you’re dating all of them. They’ll find out you’re dating them all if you don’t have it. They’ll get mad at you and ignore you for the whole week. They won’t accept any gifts from you either. Note: this won’t occur if you’ve already offered someone the pendant or got married before.
14	On a rainy day in the Mountain, around 6 PM to 7 PM. You’ll find Sebastian by the lake, and he tells you that a fractured frog is hiding by the bush and asks for your help. Upon successfully catching it, you may choose among these dialogues as a response: • Ask what you should do with it. • Tell him that it’s now your child. • Tell him that it won’t survive. • Suggest taking care of it. Whatever response you make, he’ll still take it home. The second part of this event occurs the next day between 6:20 AM to 7 PM. Sebastian will replace his Solarion Chronicles table with a terrarium for the frog. You may choose one among these five lines: • Ask him why he doesn’t make a frog haven. • Tell him that it’ll be fine. • Ask him why he likes frogs. • Say that you don’t want it on the farm. • Affirm that it’s great that he found a new hobby. Your approval of keeping this newly found pet doesn’t matter since he’ll keep it. You’ll occasionally see them jumping around the house.

Aside from these exciting events, you may encounter these questions from him that can increase your points. These aren’t a part of any special cutscene, but these could help you earn more hearts:

On a Friday, Sebastian will ask you if you read books. You may tell him that you like any of the following:  

• The Classics (-30 pts.)
• Sci-fi or Fantasy (+30 pts.)
• Good Romance (no effect.)
• You don’t read books (-30.)

While you may also encounter this conversation on other Fridays, he’ll ask you what you do when you’re not working. It won’t affect your relationship if you say you do more farming, but the following response may affect it:

• Read comic books (+30 pts.)
• Do some shopping (-30 pts.)
• Play sports (-30 pts.)

Marriage

If you think Sebastian is worthy of being your spouse, he’d also move out of his place after getting married. He’ll have his own space inside your home, and the stone path outside becomes a parking space for his motorcycle.

Quests

Sebastian doesn’t demand a lot of things, but he may occasionally make a request on the “Help Wanted” Board. Fulfilling the request gives you 150 Friendship Points and some gold worth 3x the item’s base price. Anyway, this is the only Stardew Valley quest he belongs in.
