Stardew Valley Marnie: Schedule, Gifts, and More

Have you been looking to get to know Pelican Town’s most affable animal lover, Marnie? If you want to develop a friendship with her, keep reading to know her schedule, gift preferences, and more!

Marnie’s Ranch

Who Is Marnie?

Marnie is one of the most overlooked and at the same time most talked about characters in Stardew Valley. She’s central to a lot of complex relationships with other essential villagers in the valley. Before we get too deep into that, let’s talk about who exactly this ranch girl is.

Where does Marnie live in Stardew Valley?

She’s a villager currently living in Cindersap Forest. Marnie is easily recognizable for her braided ginger hair and warm brown eyes. You can find her around town wearing a reddish-orange blouse under a green romper.

Her birthday is on Fall 18. She would be very pleased if you were to give her a gift she likes or loves on this day. She’s very approachable and friendly already, but giving her gifts would open her up to you much more than before.

Family and Relationships

She lives in Marnie’s Ranch with her nephew Shane and niece Jas. The three of them have a complicated relationship; however, they strive to make it work and eventually learn to love each other as a family.

When it is not raining on a Tuesday, she usually meets up with Caroline, Jodi, Emily, and Robin at Pierre’s General Store to exercise. Other than the usual girls, she is friends with Mayor Lewis; however, that relationship isn’t just fun exercising every Tuesday— it’s more complex and serious.

What is Marnie’s Schedule?

The ranch owner’s schedule is pretty simple and is very important for you to remember. She’s not manning the store on Mondays and Tuesdays, both days she’s at Pierre’s General Store. On Monday, she browses the shop and on Tuesdays, she has an exercise session with Caroline, Jodi, Emily, and Robin.

Her regular schedule consists of manning her store and then going to the Stardrop Saloon at night to mingle with the rest of the townies. As long as you remember she’s at Pierre’s on Mondays and Tuesdays, it’s pretty easy to find her.

What are the best gifts to give Marnie?

The townspeople definitely love receiving gifts! It’s the one surefire way to get to know them better and form a relationship with them. If you want to form a friendship with Marnie, learn about her background, and her relationships with other villagers, then giving her presents she likes or loves is the way to go!

With all the people you meet in Stardew Valley, they have an empty ten-heart bar you can fill up once you’ve gotten to know them better and even start to like each other. There are two main ways you can do it: (1) talk to them every day and (2) give them a maximum of two gifts every week.

Each gift varies on the number of friendship points depending on whether they like, love, are neutral about, dislike, or hate the item you’ve given. Birthday gifts will have an (x8) multiplier, and Feast of the Winter Star gifts will have a (x5) multiplier on friendship points.

Marnie is frighteningly easy to please, in contrast to the other villagers. Some of her liked or loved gifts are easy to find or acquire.

Be sure to check out what’s showing every so often! Movies change based on the seasons and when you unlock the theater, so try to take them when their favorite is showing.

Like the movies, the snacks at the concession counter randomly rotate. Giving a villager a snack they love will earn you 50 friendship points, 25 friendship points for one they like, and no points for one they dislike. As long as you steer clear of something they don’t like, you’re good!

Having a Secret Rendezvous with Lewis

Heart Events

Befriending a villager by talking to them and giving them presents they like results in an increase in your friendship level with them. You get to trigger special heart events or cutscene with Marnie every time you reach two more hearts with her.

No. Of HeartsHeart Event

(Part I)
Exit your house anytime from 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM.

Marnie is waiting outside your home and she greets you warmly. She tells you about how she’s training her goats to speak. Apparently, they won’t work with her unless she has their favorite food, Cave Carrots.

She asks that you help her by bringing some to her ranch anytime from 9 AM to 5 PM. If you enter the ranch with a Cave Carrot in your inventory, you will trigger the cutscene.
3
(Part II)
You may get mail from her after gaining three friendship hearts.

She sends you the recipe for Pale Broth along with a letter.
6Go into town anytime from 7 PM and 11 PM.
Note: This scene will only occur if you’re also at 6 Hearts with Mayor Lewis.

You will appear at the back of the Mayor’s Manor, finding Marnie and Mayor Lewis talking about their secret romance. They’re debating whether they should make it public or not. The Mayor feels this would lower his public reputation and authority, while Marnie feels he cares too much for his work and image. After, she agrees to keep it a secret.

You appear in and scare them both. Mayor Lewis asks you if you heard anything they talked about. You may respond in two ways:
• You say that you did hear them but you’ll keep it a secret.
• You say that you did hear them but you’ll tell everyone.

Choosing the first will gain you 50 friendship points while the second option will lose you 50 friendship points with Mayor Lewis.

Marnie asks you why you were there in the first place and you scurry away, confusing them both.
7 You may get mail from her after gaining seven friendship hearts.

She sends you the recipe for Rhubarb Pie along with a letter.

Quests

Marnie doesn’t demand a lot of things, but she may occasionally make a request on the “Help Wanted” Board. Fulfilling the request gives you 150 Friendship Points and some gold worth 3x the item’s base price.

She has one known quest, “Cow’s Delight.” She’ll send you a letter asking for a bunch of Amaranth. Fulfilling the request will reward you 500g and 1 friendship heart.

Marnie’s a good woman with hidden depths when it comes to her relationships in life. She may need a friend in you for some bit of fun and laughter every once in a while.
