Salmonberry bushes

What is the Stardew Salmonberry?

If you are new or you just never noticed them, you might be wondering “what is this item”?

In simple Stardew terms, this is a foraged fruit that can be found on bushes.

There are actually a few ways that you can use this fruit (more detailed explanations below): turn it into a jelly, make wine, eat it, sell it. Sadly, the last option is not that profitable because usually the most you can get is 10 gold coins. That’s also only if you get it in the best quality.

Other than that, it still has the lowest selling point of any foraged fruit!

That’s why we would recommend to choose between a jelly and some wine.

when can you harvest stardew salmonberry?

One of the most important things you need to know about the Stardew salmonberry is that it can only be harvested during what is called the Salmonberry Season!

It is a very narrow window, so you need to remember the exact dates!

You can only harvest the Stardew Valley salmonberry during Spring 15-18!

If you try to do it on other days, sadly, luck won’t be on your side!

How to harvest salmonberries?

The easiest way to check bushes for berries is by using the Check function! In most PC keyboards it will be the X button.

Just like with many things in Stardew, the amount of berries you get depends on your skills. This time we are talking about the Foraging skill.

Once you reach level 4, you will get 2 berries instead of 1. Once you reach level 8, you will get 3. If you would like to get 4 berries, you need to reach level 12 with a foraging buff.

Just keep in mind that you won’t get any XP from foraging these berries, so you will need to find a better way to upgrade your skill.

Of course, there is one simple way to ensure that you will always have iridium quality salmonberries. Any ideas? That’s right, we are talking about the botanist profession in Stardew Valley.

Salmonberry Jelly vs Salmonberry Wine

As you know by now, you can make both jelly and wine from the Stardew Valley salmonberry.

Let’s take a look at different selling prices that you can get depending on the quality of the item.

Salmonberry Jelly selling prices can be either 60 or 84 gold coins. This part depends on whether or not you have the artisan profession.

When it comes to the beautifully aged Stardew wine, your selling prices can be between 15 and 42!

There are a lot of different options, so it really depends on suits your farm better.

Stardew Salmonberry as a gift

There is one more great way to use the Stardew salmonberry in the game. That’s right, we are talking about gifting various versions of this item to Stardew NPCs.

So, let’s take a look at what other characters think about the berry, the wine, and the jelly!

Let’s start with the berry itself. As far as other NPCs go, just don’t give this item to Caroline, Elliot, Evelyn, or Harvey! These NPCs hate this item. On the other hand, Demetrius, Leah, Linus, Jodi, Kent, Pam, Robin, Sandy, and Shane will appreciate it!

When it comes to the wine version, Harvey and Leah love it! This would be an amazing birthday gift for them. Just keep in mind that such NPCs as Jas or Penny won’t thank you for the item at all since they hate it!

Now, time for the last item – the jelly. Thankfully, the majority of Stardew’s NPCs like it! Actually, all of them except for Sebastian!

So, what are you doing with the Stardew Salmonberry once you get the hang of harvesting it. Just note down somewhere the exact days when you can actually get these berries and you will be alright!
