If there’s one character in the game that’s not like the rest, it’s Stardew Valley Sandy. Fun fact, this is not even her real name! It’s never actually said in the game what her real name is. The main reason for that is she lives in the desert, so it makes sense. To quote the character herself, it’s “just good for business” to be called Sandy.
She lives in the Oasis in a very desert-like fashion. To be fair, she’s also not like the rest because you won’t be able to meet her immediately. You will only meet her after repairing the bus.
Let’s take a look at the Stardew Valley Sandy guide and learn everything any player needs to know about this particular character!
How to Meet Sandy
As previously mentioned, you won’t be able to meet her as soon as you start playing.
The key thing is that you will have to repair the bus. You can do that either by completing the needed bus repair bundle or buying the bus for 40k Gold. You can find it in the Joja Development Form.
It’s quite expensive, but it allows you to travel to the desert. That definitely makes it worth the money.
Stardew Valley Sandy’s Schedule
This schedule is so much easier than the ones other NPCs have. The main reason being that Sandy doesn’t really leave Oasis. She will be there whenever the store is open (morning to evening).
It only changes slightly if it’s her birthday (15th of Fall). If it’s her birthday, she will be in the oasis for a bit (roughly until 1 PM), but then later she will take a nice walk along the desert with her friend Emily.
Stardew Valley Sandy’s Friends
While she doesn’t really have a family (or at least it’s not implied throughout the game that she does), she does have some close friends.
As mentioned above, her best friend is Emily. She is the one who tells Sandy about your character (“the new farmer”). Meaning, they are definitely in contact with each other.
However, there are also people she doesn’t like as much. That would be Mr. Qi. He runs the city casino behind her shop, and she is not that happy about it. Yet, she just says that the money is good, so she pretends it’s fine.
She’s not very interested in his business, so she just tries to look the other way without knowing what happens in the casino.
When it comes to Stardew Valley Sandy and marriage, she is not one of the female NPCs that are available for an engagement.
Gifts for Stardew Valley Sandy
You already know when her birthday is, so might as well note down some of her favourite items if you want to get on her good side.
The Best Gifts for Sandy
If you want to make her day better, then here is what you should have in your inventory as a gift for her:
- Crocus
- Daffodil
- Mango sticky rice
- Sweet pea
- Goat milk
- Large goat milk
- Quartz
- Wool
These gifts will definitely raise the level of your friendship with this NPC in Stardew Valley.
The Worst Gifts for Sandy
The list of what she either likes or loves is way bigger than the one of what she truly dislikes:
- Holly
Of course, stay away from universal dislikes and universal hates! Other than that, you should be good to go if you choose something she likes or something from the list of universal likes!
If your gift giving attempt will be successful, then you might actually receive a gift from her too. Also, after you reach 7 hearts with her, you will receive a recipe as a gift in your mail.
Even if you’re not the best friends with Sandy, she will still be very nice. If she notices that you are thirsty, she will offer you Milk to cool down and be more hydrated. Lovely, right?
Quests with Sandy
When it comes to spending more time with her, you might see her asking for random items in the Help Wanted board. However, it’s funny that the reward might be less than the ticket to bring her the item.
Also, you will have to bring her a Rose during the Pirate’s Wife quest in Stardew Valley.
