Stardew Valley has a whole spectrum of different gems and minerals just waiting for you to find them. These items differ greatly in value and can be used for many different things. Read on to find out where you can find each and every mineral and gem in Stardew Valley!
Full List of Geodes
Geodes are mineral deposits that contain other minerals within them. Most of the Minerals and Gems in the game can be found in Geodes. If you’re looking to collect them all, amassing an extensive collection of Geodes is one way to do it
To open a Geode, you’ll need to visit the Blacksmith. Clint will charge you 25 gold for each Geode you want to open.
You can also open Geodes at home by using a Geode Crusher. You’ll need to use one piece of Coal for each Geode you process. However, Clint opens Geodes instantly, whereas the Geode Crusher processes Geodes for one hour.
Geode
Standard Geodes are egg-shaped and brown. They’re the most common kind of Geode and the easiest to find. You can find Geodes by breaking rocks in the mines at any level, though they are most common between levels 1 and 39. Standard Geodes can contain the Dwarvish Helm artifact, and 16 different Minerals such as the Earth Crystal, Limestone, Sandstone, and more. Additionally, you can find resources such as Clay, Coal, Copper Ore, and Iron Ore in Geodes.
You also find Geodes by collecting treasure chests while fishing, or killing Duggies in the mines. Stonefish will occasionally produce Geodes in their Fish Ponds.
Frozen Geode
Frozen Geodes are tear-shaped and light blue. They can be found by breaking rocks between levels 40 and 80 of the Mines. Frozen Geodes can contain the Ancient Drum artifact, Frozen Tears, and 14 other Minerals such as Kyanite, Marble, Opal, and more.
You also find Frozen Geodes by collecting treasure chests while fishing. Ice Pips will occasionally produce Frozen Geodes in their Fish Ponds.
Magma Geode
Magma Geodes can be found between levels 80 and 120 in the mines. They can contain the Dwarf Gadget artifact, and 13 Minerals, including the Fire Quartz, Fire Opal, Tigerseye, and more.
You also find Magma Geodes by collecting treasure chests while fishing. Lava Eels will occasionally produce Magma Geodes in their Fish Ponds.
Omni Geode
The Omni Geode is a special type of Geode that has a far more varied mineral content. It can be found by breaking rocks in the mines on any level after Floor 20. They are most common in the Skull Cavern and trips there usually end up with you having a hefty stack of Omni Geodes to crack.
Omni Geodes can contain all three of the aforementioned artifacts and foraged Minerals, as well as any of the 41 Geode Minerals in the game. Additionally, you can find the exquisitely rare Prismatic Shard by opening an Omni Geode.

There are 41 Geode minerals you can find in Stardew Valley, and they have many different uses:
- All minerals can be sold
- All minerals can be donated to Gunther’s Museum
- All minerals can be used for tailoring and dyeing, at home or at Haley and Emily’s home
- Some minerals are requested by fish in Fish Ponds to increase their capacity.
- The Wizard likes all Minerals, and they are safe gifts for him The Dwarf, Sebastian, and Sam love one single Mineral. All other Minerals are disliked by everyone.
- Minerals are used in several crafting recipes such as the Mayonnaise Machine or Marble Brazier.
While Minerals are primarily found in Geodes, they can also be found by killing certain monsters, fishing treasure chests, searching garbage cans, panning, and more. You may receive gems or minerals during the Feast of the Winter Star festival, or as a gift from your spouse.
Aerinite
Aerinite is a light blue mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. Mine between floors 40 and 80 in the Pelican Town mines to find a Frozen Geode to open. Aerinite is a liked gift for the Wizard and can be used in the Sewing Machine to craft a light blue shirt with dark blue buttons. Its base sell price is 125g.
Alamite
Alamite is a mineral of a light mossy green color. It can be found in standard Geodes, which are the easiest to find. It’s a liked gift by the Wizard and can be used in the Sewing Machine to tailor a vivid turquoise t-shirt. Its base sell price is 150g.
Baryte
Baryte is a vividly orange mineral that can be found in Magma Geodes. To find these, mine rocks after Floor 80 onwards. It’s a liked gift by the Wizard and can be used to craft a pale red shirt with a Sewing Machine. Its base sell price is just 50g.
Basalt
Basalt is a grey rock that looks like a piece of meteorite. It can be found in Magma Geodes as well. The Wizard likes this as a gift and it can be tailored into a grey t-shirt. Lava Eels may request Basalt if you have a Lava Eel Fish Pond. Its base sell price is 175g.
Bixite
Bixite is a grey cup-shaped mineral that can be found in a Magma Geode. Bixite can also be dropped by killing Black Slime. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to craft an elegant black and white shirt. Its base sell price is 300g.
Calcite
Calcite is a light yellow mineral that can be found in Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to create a mustard yellow vest with the Sewing Machine. Its base sell price is 75g.
Celestine
Celestine is a bright horn-shaped mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It can be used to craft a striped light blue t-shirt and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 125g.
Dolomite
Dolomite can be found in Magma Geodes. A Coral Fish Pond can produce Dolomite as well. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to tailor a pink t-shirt. Its base sell price is 300g.
Esperite
Esperite can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft a red shirt with a grey jacket and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 100g.
Fairy Stone
Fairy Stone is a deep purple mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft a vivid violet shirt and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 250g.
Fire Opal
Fire Opal is a flat, circular, deep purple mineral that can be found in Magma Geodes. It can be used to tailor a deep purple blouse and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 350g.
Fluorapatite
Fluorapatite is a glass-shaped light purple mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to tailor a sophisticated light purple shirt with a white scarf. It’s liked by the Wizard, and its base sell price is 200g.
Geminite
Geminite can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft a striped blue t-shirt and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 150g.
Ghost Crystal
Ghost Crystal is a greyish-blue mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to craft a grey t-shirt with darker grey overalls over it. Its base sell price is 200g.
Granite
Granite is a flat, square mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to tailor a t-shirt and jacket combo on the Sewing Machine. Spook Fish may occasionally request a piece of Granite as a Fish Pond quest. Its base sell price is just 75g.
Helvite
Helvite is a triangular mineral that can be found in Magma Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used in the Sewing Machine to craft the Classy Top. This shirt is of a deep red hue and has two different versions – male and female. Its base sell price is 450g.
Hematite
Hematite is a gold-colored mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft the Vintage Polo shirt, which is a striped mustard-yellow top. It’s a liked gift for the Wizard. Its base sell price is 150g.
Jagoite
Jagodite is a yellow mineral found in standard Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to create the Leafy Top. This yellow t-shirt has little leaves along the bottom half. Its base sell price is 115g.
Jamborite
Jamborite is a star-shaped lime-green mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to craft the Green Thumb Shirt. This adorable shirt is green, with yellow buttons and brown sleeves, as well as some blue coloring towards the bottom. Its base sell price is 150g.
Jasper
Jasper is a blood-red mineral found in Magma Geodes. It’s used to create the Bandana Shirt, which features a deep red sweater with a light purple scarf. Jasper is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 150g.
Kyanite
Kyanite is a deep-blue mineral that can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to craft the blue version of the Bandana Shirt. Its base sell price is 250g.
Lemon Stone
Lemon Stone is a crystal-shaped orange mineral that can be found in Magma Geode. It’s used to create the Happy Shirt, which is a yellow t-shirt with a smiley face. The Wizard likes Lemon Stones, but the Dwarf loves them! Its base sell price is 200g.
Limestone
Limestone is a white mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It can also be produced by Coral in Coral Fish Ponds when their population reaches 9. Occasionally, Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, or Midnight Carps in a Fish Pond may request Limestone to increase their pond capacity. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to tailor a white t-shirt with a beige belt. Its the least valuable mineral and its base sell price is just 15.
Lunarite
Lunarite is another white-colored mineral, and it can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft the Goodnight Shirt, which is dark grey and has a moon and stars on it. It’s liked by the Wizard, and its base sell price is 200g.
Malachite
Malachite is a vivid green mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to craft the Green Belted Shirt. Its base sell price is 100g.
Marble
Marble can be found in Frozen Geodes. It can be used to craft the Toga Shirt at a Sewing Machine, which has only one sleeve. It can be used to craft a Marble Blazer, though you’d first need to purchase the crafting recipe for this item at Robin’s Carpenter’s Shop for 5.000g. It’s liked by the Wizard, and its base sell price is 110g.
Mudstone
Mudstone is a brown mineral that can be found in standard Geodes. It’s used to craft the Brown Jacket, and it’s liked by the Wizard. Mudstone may be requested by a Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, or Midnight Carp Fish Pond to increase their pond capacity. Its base sell price is 25g, making it the second least valuable mineral in the game.
Nekoite
Nekoite is a pink mineral found in standard Geodes. It’s used to create a pink and white shirt in the Sewing Machine and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 80g.
Neptunite
Neptunite is an oddly-shaped dark grey mineral that can be found in Magma Geodes. It is also occasionally dropped by Black Slimes when they are killed. Neptunite is liked by the Wizard and can be used to create a sophisticated black shirt with the Sewing Machine. Its base sell price is 400g, making it the third most valuable mineral in Stardew Valley.
Obsidian
Obsidian is a deep purple mineral found in Magma Geodes. It’s a loved gift for Sebastian and is liked by the Wizard. Sebastian will occasionally gift the farmer Obsidian if they are the farmer’s spouse. It’s used to craft the Studded Vest, and its base sell price is 200g.
Ocean Stone
Ocean Stone can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and used to craft the beautiful Ocean Shirt. Midnight Squids may request an Ocean Stone in a Fish Pond quest to increase their pond capacity. Its base sell price is 220g.
Opal
Opal is a beautiful iridescent mineral found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft a sky blue shirt with a white collar and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 150g.
Orpiment
Orpiment is an orange, egg-shaped mineral found in standard Geodes. It’s used to tailor the dyeable Shirt with Bow. It can also be gifted to the Wizard, who likes it. Its base sell price is 80g.
Petrified Slime
Petrified Slime is a green bowl-shaped mineral that can be found in standard Geodes, or inside Slime Balls produced in a Slime Hutch on your farm. It’s used to craft the Slime Shirt, which is green and has a tiny Slime face on it. The Slimejack fish may request a Petrified Slime as a Fish Pond quest. This mineral, too, is liked by the Wizard, and it sells for 120g.
Pyrite
Pyrite can be found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft the colorful Jester Shirt and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 120g.
Sandstone
Sandstone is a beige, square mineral found in standard Geodes. It’s liked by the Wizard and can be used to tailor a dyeable Backpack Shirt. Its sell price is 60g.
Slate
Slate can also be found in standard Geodes. It can be used to craft a blue shirt with brown overalls and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 85g.
Soapstone
Soapstone is a bubbly mineral found in Frozen Geodes. It’s used to craft the dark-blue Gaudy Shirt and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 120g.
Star Shards
Star Shards are a bright pink mineral found in Magma Godes. They can be used to tailor the dyeable Star Shirt, and are liked by the Wizard. They are the most valuable mineral in Stardew Valley, and their base sell price is 500g.
Thunder Egg
Thunder Egg is a cup-shaped mineral found in Geodes. It’s used to craft a purple and pink shirt, and is liked by the Wizard. Its base sell price is 100g.
Tigerseye
Tigerseye is an orange mineral found in Magma Geodes. Sam loves Tigerseyes and they make a great birthday gift for this bachelor. The Wizard also likes Tigerseye, and the mineral can be used to tailor the Dark Striped Shirt. Its base sell price is 275g.
Full List of Foraged Minerals
Foraged Minerals tend to be way easier to find, but have far lower base sell prices. Conversely, they tend to have far more uses. They are called foraged minerals because you find them on the ground in the mines and the Skull Cavern and forage them instead of breaking geodes to get to them.
Earth Crystal
Earth Crystals can be found on the first 40 floors of the Pelican Town mines. Their base sell price is 50g. Duggies and Haunted Skulls have a chance to drop Earth Crystals when they are killed. Occasionally, you can find an Earth Crystal in a Geode, an Omni Geode, or while fishing and panning.
Earth Crystals are also required for completing the Geologist’s Bundle. They’re required to craft the Sturdy Ring and Mayonnaise Machine. They’re liked by every single villager except for Linus and Pierre. The Bullhead, Catfish, Midnight Carp, and Stonefish may request Earth Crystals for Fish Pond quests.
Fire Quartz
Fire Quartz is the most valuable Foraged Mineral in Stardew Valley, and it sells for 100g a piece. It can be found on Floors 80 to 120 in the mines, through panning, fishing, and breaking Magma and Omni Geodes.
Fire Quartz is needed for the Geologist’s Bundle in the Boiler Room, like the other foraged minerals. Every villager except for Leah, Linus, and Pierre, like Fire Quartz as a gift. It’s used to craft the Slime Egg-Press, and to make Refined Quartz in the Furnace. Lava Eels may request Fire Quartz as a Fish Pond quest.
Frozen Tear
Frozen Tears can be found between floors 40 and 80 in the mines, as well as through panning and fishing treasure chests. Dust Sprites have a small chance to drop Frozen Tears when killed.
It’s used in the Geologist Bundle, and in fish quests to do with Blobfish and Ice Pips. It can be gifted to everyone except for Leah, Linus, and Pierre, who dislike it. Sebastian, in particular, loves the Frozen Tear. It’s used to craft the Warrior Ring and tailor the Dark Jacket.
Quartz
Quartz is the least valuable of all foraged minerals in Stardew Valley, and its base sell price is 25g. It can be found on any level in the mines, and in Garbage Cans around town, and they sometimes drop from Stone Golems when they are killed.
Quartz is required for the Geologist’s Bundle in the Community Center and can be used to craft Refined Quartz if placed into a Furnace. Quartz is liked by Abigail, Dwarf, Emily, Harvey, Krobus, Leo, Marnie, Maru, Robin, Sandy, Sebastian, Willy, and the Wizard. It can be used to tailor the Gray Vest, and occasionally is requested by Fish Ponds or villagers at the Help Board.

Amethyst
Amethysts are bulbous purple gems that can be found by mining Amethyst and Gem Nodes, or by killing Green Slimes, panning, and collecting treasure chests. They are loved by Abigail, Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. Its base sell price is 100g.
Aquamarine
Aquamarines are circular teal gems that can be found by mining Aquamarine and Gem Nodes, or through panning and collecting treasure chests. They are loved by Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. They are also used to complete the Dye Bundle and craft Marble Braziers. Its base sell price is 180g.
Diamond
Diamonds are light-blue gems found by mining Diamond and Gem Nodes, through panning and fishing. Any monster has a chance to drop a Diamond once you’ve reached floor 120 of the mines. They’re used for crafting a variety of things and are loved by eight different villagers – Evelyn, Gus, Jodi, Krobus, Marnie, Maru, Penny, and Willy. Diamonds are also the most valuable gem in Stardew Valley, aside from the Prismatic Shard. Its base sell price is 750g.
Emerald
Emeralds are deep green gems found by mining Emerald and Gem Nodes, through panning, fishing, and killing Blue Slimes. They are loved by Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. Its base sell price is 250g.
Jade
This pale green gem can be found in Jade and Gem Nodes, by killing Blue Slimes or collecting treasure chests. It’s loved by Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. Its base sell price is 200g.
Prismatic Shard
The rarest and most precious gem in Stardew Valley. Prismatic Shards can be found in the Skull Cavern by mining Iridium Nodes and Mystic Stones. They are most likely to be dropped by Shadow Brutes, Shadow Shamans, Mummies, and Serpents, but can also drop by any monster after reaching the bottom of the mines. They can also be found in Omni Geodes. Finally, they can be found in fishing treasure chests.
Prismatic Shards is the best gift in Stardew Valley. It’s loved by every villager except for Haley, who hates it. It’s also used to obtain the Galaxy Sword in the Desert, for enchanting, and as a sacrifice for the Shrine of Selfishness. Its base sell price is 2.000g.
Ruby
Rubies are deep red gems found by mining Ruby and Gem Nodes, through panning, and collecting treasure chests. They are loved by Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. A Ruby’s base sell price is 250g.
Topaz
Topaz is an egg-shaped, orange gem found by mining Topaz Nodes and Gem Nodes. It can also be found by panning or in chests. It’s loved by Clint, the Dwarf, and Emily. It’s the least valuable gem in Stardew Valley, and its base sell price is 80g.
