Stardew Valley River Farm: Is It A Good Choice?

When you will be choosing the most suitable farm layout for your game, you will come across the Stardew Valley river farm, also known as Riverland. Is it a good layout both for more experience players and for beginners?

Also, this Stardew Valley map is know for all its rivers and water sources that are good for fishing, but is it enough?

Let’s take a deeper look into this farm layout.

What is the Stardew Valley River Farm?

Riverland view

The Stardew Valley river farm in itself is quite an interesting layout. While it does have more than 1500 regular tiles to work with, the majority of the farm is full of all types of water (little river-like creations, mini islands, and more).

At a glance, the farm layout has a very big focus on fishing as you’re mostly working with water tiles. That’s why this might not be an ideal option if you’re not a big fan of fishing!

Of course, people tend to overlook this layout just because it’s a little bit more complicated than the rest of them. However, it can be quite fun!

Then again, even if you prefer to work on your crops, there are still plenty of tillable tiles where you can plant your crops or raise your animals.

There are so many rivers in this map that you can spend the whole day just walking around this map!

Is the River Farm Right For You?

To determine if you should try this farm layout, let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the Stardew Valley Riverland.

Pros

Listen, if you’re a fan of fishing, then there is literally no better farm layout for you!

You can spend days, weeks, or even months trying to fish in every part of the map. And you will still have more to explore! This is a very versatile place, so this could be interesting if you’re tired of the original farm layout.

This river layout definitely makes everything look much more aesthetic, so don’t knock it til you try it!

Cons

Here’s the thing, it might not be for everyone. Not all players would appreciate all those bridges that take so long to cross when your character runs out of energy too fast.

If you’re still very new, you might be a little bit too complicating. Not everyone could manage having so many different aspects of your farm in different locations.

You might even forget where you put something and then you would need to cross multiple bridges to find whatever you have lost in various islands!

What is the Best Farm Layout?

If you’re not a big fan of the Stardew Valley river farm, you might want to look for an alternative.

What is our suggestion? In all fairness, the four corners map might be the easiest one while still being very interesting!

Four corners map great both for solo players and the ones who want to enjoy multiplayer, and you can easily divide your farm. For example, all your crops can be in one corner, and all your animals can be on the other corner. This way, you will always know where everything is and won’t have to worry too much.

Also, if you choose to play multiplayer, dividing the corners among your friends becomes extremely convenient.

Each of your friends can have their own little place and rule as you see fit!

This farm layout also has plenty of space to work on your crops and build whatever your heart desires, so feel free to give this farm a try!

Of course, we are definitely not giving up on the Stardew Valley river farm! It does have its own benefits that cannot be denied. Just prepare for plenty of fishing and get your best boots out for a full day of walking through the bridges!
