How To Unlock Tailoring

To unlock tailoring, you must first acquire a piece of Wool or Cloth. The next day, Emily will visit your farm and offer you the use of her sewing room. You can use the Sewing Machine and Dye Pots at Emily and Haley’s House from then on and make your own custom-tailored outfits.

You can also get your own Sewing Machine as a reward for fulfilling Emily’s special order, which is called “Rock Rejuvenation”. To complete this quest, you need to deliver a Ruby, Topaz, Emerald, Jade, and Amethyst to Emily.

How do I use the Sewing Machine

The Sewing Machine is easy to use! There are three things to remember. In the bottom left, there is an empty box called the “Feed”. You place your Cloth in that box. Top right there is another blank box called the “Spool,” here you place your second item. Then, click the big power button on the bottom right and you’re all done!

The sewing machine interface. When we press the power button, we’ll have crafted a Dark Jacket.

You can dye an existing article of clothing by placing it in the feed and placing another item in the spool. For example, if you place a White Shirt in the feed, and Beer or Cheese in the spool, the shirt will turn yellow after you press the power button.

You can find a more complete guide on this link here, and learn how to use dye pots too!

Where can I find Cloth?

There are a lot of ways to find Cloth. You can craft Cloth by placing Wool in a Loom. You can obtain Wool by raising Sheep or Rabbits in the Barn and Coop respectively. You can also find Cloth by placing a Newspaper in the Recycling Machine.

Where is The Abandoned House?

The Abandoned House is located at the southernmost end of the Cindersap Forest. To get to the house, first make your way to the Wizard’s Tower. From there, head south, hugging the western wall. Eventually, you’ll make it down the cliffside. Here, turn right, and you’ll be right in front of the Abandoned House.

Follow the arrows to find the hat mouse.

However, it will be totally empty until you first receive this letter in the mail:

Hi.
Me sell hats. Okay, poke?

Come to old old old haus, poke. Bring coines.

-hat mouse

You will receive this letter once you unlock any achievement. In-game achievements can be found in the social tab under the Collections Tab:

Can I make the Villagers Change Outfits too?

The villagers don’t change their outfits by default, unfortunately. However, you can get the Seasonal Outfits mod from Nexus Mods to fix that issue. This mod changes the villagers’ outfits based on the current season. It’ll even give your favorite NPCs like Abigail and Leah new hairstyles during certain seasons.
