Found in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest, Bream is a common type of nocturnal fish in Stardew Valley. You can fish it out of the river, find it randomly during any season in Garbage Cans, or purchase it from the Traveling Cart for 135g – 1,000g when it appears. It has a difficulty rating of 35/80 and is attainable at any fishing level.
Like the Largemouth Bass and Sandfish, Bream can be caught during any season in their respective location during certain times of the day.

Location and Time of Bream
Bream can be found in the river in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest during all seasons after 6:00 pm to 2:00am. You don’t need any specific type of fishing rod to catch one, but you cannot use a training rod, meaning you can use anything from a bamboo pole to iridium rod.
Note: If you have Magic Bait, you can fish for Bream at any time of day.

General Information
It’s a blue colored fish that can range from 12 – 31 inches. Its in-game description reads: “A fairly common river fish that becomes active at night.”

Selling Prices
The base selling price for Bream depends on the selected Fishing professions at level five and at level ten. Fisher, level five, sells fish for 25% more gold, and Angler, level ten, sells fish for 50% more gold.

Other Uses
Aside from gaining experience and eating as a quick snack, Bream can be used in recipes and is required to progress the Community Center.
Community Center
This river fish is one of the fish needed in the Night Fishing Bundle for the Pelican Town Community Center Fish Tank. Only a normal-quality Bream is required to complete the bundle.
Fish Pond
Bream can be farmed in a Fish Pond for a constant source of it. They reproduce every two in-game days during all seasons with an output of blue Bream Roe. Its general stats are:

With the Preserves Jar, Aged Roe can be created by placing Roe in it and waiting 4,000 in-game minutes. Aged Roe sells for 104g. With the Artisan profession, it is sold for 45% more at 145g.
Note: When farming Dorado, Lingcod, or Pike in Fish Ponds, they might request 2 Bream when increasing their pond capacity from 3 to 5 fish.
Gifting
You can gift Bream to the villagers. Though it’s not the best way to increase friendship points with an NPC, Bream is easy to catch, and a few villagers are neutral when receiving it.

Help Wanted Board Quests
Bream can be randomly requested in any season as a quest from the Help Wanted board. This quest will reward you with 135g and 150 friendship points to the requesting villager.

Tailoring
You can put Bream in the spool and a Sewing Machine to create the Fish Shirt. The fish can also be used in dyeing, resulting in a blue dye when put into dye pots. The dye pots are in Emily and Haley’s house at Pelican Town (2 Willow Lane).
