Why Is Stardew Valley Boring: Best Way to Fight Boredom

Stardew Valley is a very, very gritty game. Stardew Valley can be very boring and repetitive if you keep doing the same thing over and over again. Of course, when it comes to games like this one, you’re always up to grind and grind, no matter what.

Now I know it gets easier each time you’re progressing, but it’s a slow burn and a pretty tedious game. Gaming shouldn’t be one of the things that bring us stress, but joy and should be what’s called an escape.

If you treat Stardew Valley as something you should be competing against, then it’s safe to say that this isn’t the game for you. We all have those types of games that we’re just playing mindlessly and on autopilot.

In my case, it’s probably Left 4 Dead 2 or something like Genshin Impact. I don’t have to grind and I can always get back to any of the two whenever I want.

But for a game like Stardew Valley, there are so many things you can do and there’s quite a lot that you might miss out on if you stop playing now, even as a single-player game.

Fighting the “Boring” Gameplay of Stardew Valley

When you first started the game, I’m pretty sure you’ve got a lot going in for you. There are tons of quests and a lot of things to do. At first, you’re gonna be grinding tons of materials and crops, and items, and building your dream farming empire.

This is typically any kind of ground game. I mean, there are a lot of grindy games. For example, there are games like Monster Hunter games, Black Desert Online, WoW, and many others that are just some kind of the games you’ll have to play repeatedly. These are the types of games you’ll typically play for months. For games like EVE Online, even years isn’t enough.

But for a game like Stardew Valley, you don’t have to invest your everything to enjoy the game. Of course, it’s gritty. It’s a farming simulator, for Pete’s sake. But you’ll have to like the gameplay itself for you to get into the game.

What You’re Doing Wrong in the Game

If you’re thinking long-term, Stardew Valley barely feels like a long-term investment. At least around 150 hours is enough for you to explore the entirety of the game. More than that is just exploring new ways to play the game.

You might see in some forums like Reddit or Steam Community that some people share the sentiments of the game being boring. I mean, at first, it kinda sounds and plays very boring. But the game itself isn’t boring. It’s filled with a lot of activities that’ll keep you hooked, especially if you like these types of games.

The amount of work you’ll have to do in Stardew Valley is like comparing an ant to a human. The game might be a tedious and slow burn at first, but that’s basically what it’s like to farm. I mean, it’s even better in Stardew Valley since you can experience more than just idle farming.

You’ll learn tons of skills in Stardew Valley that you can even apply in real life, minus gold farming.

Why Stardew Valley Isn’t For You

Stardew Valley is like building your dream world. World. Not just your dream house, your dream place, or your dreamland. World. We’re talking big here. Stardew Valley is boring, sure. But not for everyone. Just like how playing CS: GO or League of Legends isn’t for everyone.

Stardew Valley rewards the patient, the person who can wait, and the person who knows how to take things in time.

One of the reasons why Stardew Valley isn’t for anyone is because the amount of things you can do in Stardew Valley is pretty limited to most sandbox and open-world games. You might need to look for a better alternative like Minecraft, Valheim, and DayZ. These survival games are good and pretty challenging. You can’t go wrong when you choose to play these games.

Stardew Valley, on the other hand, is a game where you have to give your attention to it a couple of times. You don’t have to dedicate your entire life to the game. It’s supposed to be a relaxing game, not a stressful one.

The Things You Can Do in Stardew Valley to Ease the Boredom

Turning the Map into Another Farming Scheme

You can never go wrong with this type of mindset. Turning the map into an entire farming garbage scheme without regard for the aesthetic is a pretty good idea.

Collect Stardrops

Always consume these items since you can’t store them for later use. It stores and increases your energy by 34 points permanently.

Catching All Types of Fishes (Including the Legendaries)
