Do you know what is Stardew Valley calcite? How can you use it in Stardew Valley and where can you find it? These and other questions will be answered in this guide below, so take a look to learn more!
What is calcite in stardew valley?
First things first, let’s take a look at what Stardew Valley calcite is.
Calcite is a mineral that you can find in geodes or omni geodes. The game itself describes it as “This yellow crystal is speckled with shimmering nodules.“.
The selling price can be either 75 or 97 gold coins. It depends on whether you have the gemologist’s profession or not.
What can you do with Calcite?
While there are not that many things you can do with calcite in the game, there are a few things you should know about this mineral.
First of all, it can be used for tailoring. Stardew calcite can be used in the spool of the Stardew Valley sewing machine to make a shirt. It can also be used for dying as a yellow dye in the dye pots.
So, can you use calcite as a gift for other NPCs? Well, sort of. What we mean is that only Wizard likes it!
All other NPCs will really dislike calcite as a gift, so it might be better to have some universally liked or loved items in your inventory.
Other than that, calcite is not used in any bundles, recipes, or quests.
How to get Stardew Calcite?
You already know by now that you can get calcite from geodes and omni geodes in Stardew Valley. However, how does that actually work? Where can you find geodes? All these questions will be answered below:
from geodes
A geode is considered to be a mineral deposit that has minerals, artifacts, ores, and various resources. You will need a blacksmith to open it for you to see what is inside.
You can get geodes from breaking rocks and in the Mines. If you go to the Mines, then floors 1-39 might be the best place to search for geodes. You can also find them in fishing treasure chests or get it as a gift during the Stardew Valley Winter Star festival. Other than that, a stonefish fish pond can also help you with this.
Once you find the geode, just bring it to Clint (you can find him in the blacksmith’s shop) and he will open it for 25 gold coins. P.S you can also get a geode crusher for this process.
When it comes to calcite, there is a 1/32 chance of getting it when you crack open the geode. Of course, it’s possible that you won’t get Stardew calcite, but there are plenty of great minerals (granite, malachite, etc.), resources (stone, coal, clay, etc.), and foraged minerals (earth crystal) that you can get. You might even find a dwarvish helm in a geode!
From Omni geodes
The omni geode is very simple to the regular geode. However, its contents are a bit different. For example, you can also get the prismatic shard, fire quartz, iridium ore, and other great items!
When it comes to calcite, you have a 31/2750 chance of getting it from an omni geode.
So, how can you get the omni geode? Basically, there are a lot of ways. For example:
- Finding it in the Mines (floors 21 and up)
- The Skull Cavern
- The carbon ghost might drop it (a 99% chance)
- Panning
- Omni geode nodes in the volcano dungeon
- You can buy it from the oasis on Wednesdays. This will cost you 1000 gold coins
- You can buy it from Krobus on Tuesdays. This will cost you 300 gold coins.
And these are just some of the ways! That’s why you can just choose whichever way works the best for you.
Once you find the omni geode, just bring it to Clint (you can find him in the blacksmith’s shop) and he will open it for 25 gold coins. P.S you can also get a geode crusher for this process.
If you don’t want to deal with the whole geode thing, you can also trade it at the desert trader for other items.
Are you ready to start cracking those geodes and omni geodes? That’s the best way to get some Stardew calcite, you just need to be patient and have some luck!
