How to Find and Use Lobster in Stardew Valley

Whether you’re looking for ways to catch a lobster in Stardew Valley or you already have it and just want to know what you can do with it, this is the guide for you! It might be harder to catch this crustacean without knowing where to properly look, so feel free to note some things down.

Players can’t eat the lobster immediately after catching it either. We’ll go over the most common recipes for this particular item!

Of course, if you’re not a fan of lobster yourself, you can always gift it to some NPCs if they happen to be fans of this sea item!

Where to Find Stardew Valley Lobster (Using the Pot!)

If you’re in a mood for some fishing in Stardew Valley, then you will have to head down to the southern part of the town.

The lobsters can be found in the ocean. However, you will have to use a Crab Pot to catch the lobsters, so it’s not always very easy.

While we’re at it, you can actually get yourself a lobster during any season during the game.

If you won’t want to go to the ocean all the time, get yourself a Fish Pond. You can place your lobster in it, and you will have a new fish every 3 days. Just don’t forget to increase the capacity of your pond if you’re planning to have many lobsters! Increasing the capacity doesn’t cost that much, but it can be beneficial for players who want to have a Stardew Valley strategy.

Gifting Lobster in Stardew Valley: Yay or Nay

Just like with any item in the game, some characters will be thankful and some will be very very confused if you gift them something.

When it comes to lobster, below you will find all the information you need to know which NPCs will appreciate your great gift.

Love/Neutral

Out of all NPCs, only Elliott loves lobsters, so you can absolutely keep this in mind if you’re trying to become his friend. Other NPCs might say thank you, but they won’t be extremely excited.

These NPCs are quite neutral about lobster, so you can still gift it to them:

  • Demetrius
  • Leo
  • Linus
  • Pam
  • Sebastian
  • Willy

It can still be a great gift to them, so remember that the next time you have a lobster in your inventory!

Hate/Dislike

If you can, it would be beneficial to keep all the lobsters away from these NPCs:

  • Evelyn
  • Haley
  • Pierre
  • Abigail
  • Alex
  • Caroline
  • Leah
  • Marnie
  • Maru
  • Penny
  • Sam
  • Shane
  • Vincent
  • Clint

They will not appreciate the gesture at all! It would be a better idea to find them something else!

Stardew Valley Lobster Recipes

If you have plenty of lobster in your inventory, why not make something tasty with it? It can be a great skill to have in Stardew Valley if you need more energy during the game.

Below you can find some of the best recipes with lobster or any fish.

Lobster Bisque

This one is for any gourmet food lovers out there. Preparing a lobster bisque is quite simple if you have 1 lobster and 1 milk! It’s an old Willy’s family recipe, so you can receive it from him at some point.

The sell price of this is 205 Gold, so it can be a great way to get some spare change if you need it.

Maki Roll

Your character can actually prepare a maki roll if they have any type of fish, seaweed, and some rice. This way, the fish can be substituted for a lobster if that’s what you have.

If you’d like to make some sushi, you can buy the recipe from Gus at the Saloon for 300 Gold. It’s an easy recipe, so it would be quite useful!

Sashimi

If you’re looking for something more interesting, why not make lobster sashimi? It’s just raw fish that is sliced in a very thin way, but it provides a lot of energy for the player during long days.

You can use any fish (lobster included) for it and enjoy some quality food. If you happen to have lobster in Stardew Valley, making lobster sashimi is extremely easy.

The recipe can be received from Linus after the 3 heart event. That’s quite a good reason to become friends with him!

Now you’re more than ready to go catch yourself a lobster! It can be a great addition to your inventory, so feel free to spend some time near the ocean and the Crab Pots!
