Stardew Valley SDV Tool Upgrades Guide 2021

SDV Tool Upgrades can help you a lot to maximize your game efforts and create your dream farm.

That being said, if you’re at the beginning of your farming journey, you certainly have many questions.

What tool upgrades in Stardew Valley matter the most? What do these upgrades do? And how does it work in the latest update of the game?

This quick and concise guide will try to help you out.

Stardew Valley SDV Tool Upgrades Priority: Where to begin?

When we think about priorities, we can’t begin without a Pickaxe. The best tool upgrades in Stardew Valley belong to the Pickaxe. Upgrading the pickaxe allows you to go deeper into the Mines and gather materials more efficiently.

Furthermore, it will also allow you to clear out the Boulders on your farm, which will help you to expand your supply. When the Pickaxe is upgraded, move to:

  • the Trash
  • the Hoe
  • and the Watering Can

You can upgrade your farming tools at the Blacksmith, in exchange for gold and materials. The Blacksmith will upgrade it the same morning, so be sure to swing by and recollect it once it’s done!

Moreover, Blacksmith will work during holidays, as long as you gave him the tool before the holiday began.

Stardew Valley 1.5: Enchantments

A new addition in the 1.5 update is the Tool Enchantments option. You can both have an upgraded tool and an enchanted tool, so taking the best of both worlds will be extremely valuable!

To Enchant your tools and weapons, you should get to the Forge on Ginger Island. Then, spend one Prismatic Shard and 20 Cinder Shards. Furthermore, you can reroll enchantments by spending one shard. You are guaranteed not to get the two most recent enchantments.

So, there are 11 total upgrades of the Axe, Fishing Rod, Hoe, Pickaxe, and the Watering Can that you can pursue. Keep in mind that upgrading a tool or weapon does not negate the enchantment applied to it.
