Apart from mining inside the Local Mines and Skull Cavern, it’s possible to try your luck in the Quarry. This huge empty space generates ores, stones, and rare nodes. You can break them with ease, as long as you have the first tool upgrade.

Unfortunately, the pathway to resources is beyond repair by putting pieces of wood. But don’t worry. We’ll help you restore the old Quarry Bridge for your hoarding adventure!

WHERE IS THE BRIDGE?

The long wooden bridge is located on the northeast side of the map. It is located just south of the entrance to the Mines and near the Adventurer’s Guild.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE QUARRY?

There are three ways you can access the quarry.

After the bridge is repaired, you can freely walk over the bridge to and from the Quarry. The Quarry is located in the North-East corner of the map, in the same area as the Mountain so it will have the same forageables.

In addition to being able to walk across the bridge, players can fast-travel to the Quarry once they have repaired the bus.

The last travel option is via the Minecart once you have repaired it.

WHAT IS THE QUARRY?

The Quarry is a large region in Stardew Valley that is made up of two different areas: the quarry itself and a new mine.

What’s so special about the Quarry Area

The Quarry itself is littered with a wide selection of mining ores, rocks, and trees. It can be home to every ore and gem in the entire game, though rarity and spawn rates need to be taken into account. Each day there is a chance that new rocks, nodes, and seeds (Oak and Maple) will be generated. Thus, it’s a good idea to either keep the Quarry completely clear or to check it once a week, so rare and valuable spawns won’t be blocked by existing rocks.

These valuable items include Iridium Ore (required for the Warp Totem to the desert), and Prismatic Shards (necessary for obtaining the Galaxy Sword). Prismatic Shards have a 25% drop rate from Mystic Stones (can be found in the Quarry) so be on the lookout.

One time-saving method to clearing the Quarry quickly is using bombs. They destroy both the Mystic Stones and trees.

Also, villagers don’t travel to this area, or on the bridge, so items placed here are prevented from being destroyed.

The Quarry Mine

The cave entrance to the mine is located on the left edge of the Quarry, just north of the bridge. Inside the cave is a ladder that goes down to the mine.

This mine is a little different from the main mine in Pelican Town, as the Quarry mine resets only at the end of each day, so it cannot be farmed multiple times in a single day. Goodbye to the days of fighting through waves of monsters to access ores, now they regrow naturally.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t any enemies to fight though. There are both Copper and Iron Slimes present, as well as Haunted Skulls. These skulls have a similar flight pattern to bats and serpents, just avoid being surrounded by them. If you do happen to be bested in the Quarry Mines, your character will wake up inside the entrance to the regular Mines.

The other main difference is that there is only one floor of the Quarry Mine. At the end of the one, long floor is a Grim Reaper statue holding a Golden Scythe. Clicking the statue will give you the scythe with the benefits of a longer reach, more damage, and a higher chance of dropping hay from grass collection than your normal scythe. Once the Golden Scythe is collected then further clicking on the Grim Reaper Statue serves to teleport the player to the beginning of the mine.

The Quarry Mines are populated with gray and brown rocks, and copper and iron nodes.

HOW DO I REPAIR THE BRIDGE?

There are two different ways that a player can repair the broken bridge to Quarry in Stardew Valley. Only one option is available to the player per playthrough. Which option for Bridge Repair the player can choose depends on whether or not they chose to sell the Community Center to The Joja Corporation or chose to help the Junimos rebuild it. Siding with The Joja Corporation and repairing the bridge that way is entirely gold driven. The other option of rebuilding the Community Center yourself, while being much cheaper, involves the gathering of items over the course of a year.

Buying the Bridge Repair from The Joja Corporation

If you sold the Community Center at the beginning of the game, then repairing the bridge is relatively simple!

The JojaMart Membership

First, the player needs to buy a JojaMart Membership from Morris for 5,000 gold. He can be found at the counter to the right in the JojaMart from 9:40 AM to 11 PM everyday. The JojaMart is located on the east side of Pelican town, just north of the Blacksmith.

Once you buy the JojaMart Membership, the player will have the option to buy the Bridge Repair for an additional 25,000 Gold from the Joja Community Development Form. It’s just that simple, if the player has the gold to spend. The caveat is, only one project can be bought a day, even if the player has enough money for multiple.

Completing the bridge repair

That night, after sleeping, there will be a cutscene of Morris and his Joja crew completing the Bridge Repair after it is purchased. After completing the construction, there will not be any friendship rewards received like after completing Community Center construction bundles. Though, after completing the Joja Community Development Form, Morris will present the player with a Soda Machine. This machine will give a single Joja Soda (giving 13 energy and 5 health) per day.
