Setting up Local Multiplayer in Stardew Valley

While setting up the local multiplayer isn’t that hard, you need to have at least someone you can play with. Of course, if you don’t have a lot of friends, you might opt to play in a single-player mode. But we’re not here to feel lonely about being socially inept.

First, you need to have someone you can play the game with.

Second, you need them own Stardew Valley.

Third, you need to have them playing in the same connection. We’re talking about LAN or Local Area Network here so they need to be in the same wifi or internet connection.

Fourth, you need to start the game and click on the “Co-op” in the main menu.

Fifth, you need to choose between Joining a LAN game or Hosting one.

Sixth, you need to choose between the options in the game’s co-op menu. You can set up up to 3 cabins for your friends to stay in.

Seventh, once you’re done checking out everything, you can select “Ok” and start the game with your homies.

But before everything else, you need to tell them what’s your IP address. If you go to the Windows Search Bar and type cmd, you’ll be able to open up the Command Prompt.

Alternatively, you can just press the Windows + R key simultaneously to open up a Run dialogue box and then type cmd. Press enter and the Command Prompt will appear. Type in ipconfig and copy your IP address.

Lastly, once they start the game, they’ll have to enter your IP address.

There you have it. You can now play local multiplayer with your friends in Stardew Valley.

How to set up Split Screen in Stardew Valley

The new 1.54 update will allow you to build a farm with a cabin installed, which is a good addition to the game. To get into the split-screen mode, go look for Advanced Options. There you can set up your character and farm type. The enabled split-screen co-op options are in the same menu.

You need to toggle the multiplayer, by the way. Learn more about multiplayer by clicking here.

And that’s how you’ll be able to set up your local multiplayer. If you enjoy our content, consider checking out our other posts. We cover everything from mods, guides, and everything about Stardew Valley.
