There are so many quests in Stardew Valley, including one called Robin’s Lost Axe. But how on earth do you find it? Here’s where you can find Robin’s axe.
Who is Robin?
Robin is Pelican Town’s local carpenter. She lives on the Mountain at 24 Mountain Road. You’ll need to visit her for tons of reasons throughout the game. She is the one responsible for constructing new buildings on your farm, such as barns or coops. Without those, you won’t be able to raise any animals that you buy from Marnie’s Ranch.
What is Stardew Valley Robin’s Lost Axe?
Throughout the game, you’ll pick up 52 Story Quests. You can get these in the mail, after specific achievements, or through interactions with NPCs. Robin’s Lost Axe is the first quest that you will be asked to complete by Robin. On Spring 11, you will receive a letter from Robin in your mailbox.
Unfortunately, Robin doesn’t give you much information on where to find it. But your handy dandy journal does! If you open up your journal, the quest text reads, “Robin lost her favorite axe. The last time she remembers using it, she was cutting wood south of Marnie’s ranch.” In order to complete the quest, you simply need to find her axe and return it to her.
Why Should I Complete This Quest?
Well, because it’s a nice thing to do, of course! However, this quest isn’t technically required to complete the game. What it does get you is 250g and one friendship heart with Robin. Befriending the villagers unlocks all sorts of content, including cut scenes and new recipes.
When you reach seven hearts with Robin specifically, she’ll send you the recipe for Pumpkin Soup in the mail. This recipe is incredibly useful for mine runs because it gives you +2 defense and +2 luck. Luck is an important stat in the mines because it increases your chances of being able to find a staircase.
Where to Find Robin’s Axe
The information of “south of Marnie’s ranch” isn’t terribly specific. But you could spend in-game hours scouring Cindersnap Forest for Robin’s axe. So here’s a handy guide to show you exactly how to find it.
First, you want to head to Marnie’s Ranch. You can either get there by leaving the south exit of your farm or entering the forest from the east by Jodi’s house. From there, walk to the left along the river until you reach a bridge.
Eventually, the cliff cuts in toward the right, and you’ll soon see Robin’s axe hiding behind a maple tree.
If you’ve hit the sewers – stop! You’ve gone too far! Turn around and head north and to the right slightly. It can be easy to miss, but just keep an eye out and you’ll find it.
Congratulations, you’ve officially found Robin’s axe! Pick it up and find Robin to give it to her. If it’s between 9 am and 5 pm, she’ll most likely be in her shop. Head back to the mountains and bring it to her there. If it’s Tuesday or after hours, she might be somewhere else. What Other Quests Does Robin Have?
Can’t get enough of helping Robin out? No worries, there are plenty of opportunities to complete more quests for her. She has one more Story Quest; on Winter 21, you’ll get a similar letter in the mail to the one that started this quest. This time, she asks you to bring her ten pieces of hardwood. In order to complete it, make sure you’ve upgraded your axe with Clint at least once. The reward for this quest is 500g and another friendship heart.
After Fall 2, Year 1, you’ll have access to the Special Orders board. These are slightly more involved quests than the Help Wanted quests posted outside of Pierre’s. They usually expire after a week, although some are longer. Robin has two Special Order quests.
The first is called “Robin’s Project.” She says that she’s doing a project but needs 80 hardwood. After you complete it, you’ll get a cut scene in her house with her family. This quest isn’t repeatable like some other Special Order quests are. After you’ve done it, Robin will offer the Deluxe Red Double Bed in her shop for 6,000g. You receive 2,000g for completing this quest.
The second is called “Robin’s Resource Rush.” She challenges you to gather 1000 pieces of a single resource in a week. This quest can be for either stone or wood. Unlike the previous quest, this one is repeatable. After the first time you complete it, however, Robin will send you the recipe for a Stone Chest.
And of course, if you regularly check the Help Wanted quests outside of Pierre’s shop, a request from Robin might show up.
Conclusion
Whether you’re a completionist or simply looking to build friendship with her, you should definitely complete this quest. If it’s friendship you want, then you can also woo her with some of her favorite gifts such as spaghetti or a peach. Perhaps even better than either of those would be gold- or iridium-quality goat cheese. Starred gifts get you more points than unstarred gifts!
