Description

The Legend is a type of fish that is obtainable through Fishing. Being that this elusive fish is one of the five legendary fish, it can only be caught once per save file (or once per player in multiplayer).

The Legend is mentioned in the lost book “Secrets of the Legendary Fish”. In this book, it’s said that this elusive fish only ventures out of his log submerged in the Mountain Lake to nibble at frog’s eggs.

Where to find the legend

The Legend is located in the Mountain Lake, at the northeast corner of the Pelican Town map, during the spring season. The Mountain Lake is located right underneath the Mines and Adventurer’s Guild.

More specifically, you must fish the Mountain Lake with the bobber at least 5 tiles away from land in every direction. This also includes bridges. The only exception to this rule is if it lands in bubbles, where it can be one tile closer to land.

As mentioned in the “Secrets of the Legendary Fish”, the region of the lake near the submerged log is a location the catch the Legend. However, this spot isn’t the only place in the lake it can be fished.

How to Catch the legend

The Legend is a late-game fish, as you can only catch it once fishing level 10 is achieved. Once you’ve grinded out the fishing required to get to level 10, you can only catch The Legend during the spring season, when it’s raining, between the hours of 6 AM to 8 PM.

Though, if you use magic bait, you can catch it at any time or season, regardless of the weather.

Even with all of these criteria met, there is only a 10% chance of the Legend appearing.

Thus, since it is hard to find you should make sure you reel it the first time around. To maximize your chances of successfully reeling in the Legend, you should use the Iridium fishing pole, bait, and the trap bobber.

What can you do with the legend

This fish is not found in any bundles, or quests, and no villagers like getting it as a gift. Demetrius, Elliot, Leo, Linus, Pam, Sebastian, and Willy are all neutral to receiving the Legend as a gift. While everyone else either dislikes it or hates it.

It can be crafted into three recipes: Maki Roll, Quality Fertilizer, and Sashimi. Though, all of these recipes can be crafted using any fish in the game; and both Sashimi and Maki Rolls sell for significantly less than the cost of just the actual fish.

The Legend can be used as green dye at the dye pots inside Emily and Haley’s house.

It can be sold at a base price of 5000g, 6250g for the silver quality, and 7500g for the gold quality. The Legend can be caught in the size range of 49-51 inches. If you consume the Legend, you will receive a boost of 500 energy, and 225 health.
